Need Help With Ranger!! Need B/P Build Please!!!
Hey guys, my girlfriend decided to try Guild Wars and she wants to make a ranger. Obviously she has nothing and I don't have much because I recently had an incident with a friend which I would rather not discuss. Anywho, I want to set her up with a B/P build. Can someone post which Armor, Skills, Pet and Weapon she should use for that kind of build. If anyone has spare Ranger equipment they don't need would you mind making a donation. Thanks a ton in advance, just post build here.

For BP the armor doesnt matter that much, as the most you will be doing is spamming barrage,so go with whatever you find looks nice.
B/P skills are really just Barrage, Charm Animal , Comfort Animal ,"One of the spirits here'' and a res , most of the time Rebirth is the best choice. The bar i use sometimes is: Savage Shot, Distracting Shot, Barrage,Spirit,Charm Animal,Comfort Animal,Rebirth The remaining slot you can put either a blocking skill, or Troll Unguent. The choice of the spirit depends on what you put your points in, if you go mostly Marksmanship you go with Favorable Winds. if you go mostly Wilderness you choose Winnowing. if you go mostly Beast Mastery you choose Edge of Extinction. Going mostly Marksmanship means your barrage will do more damage. Going mostly Wilderness means your Troll Unguent will heal for more. Going mostly Beast Mastery means your pet will do more damage and come back with more health. Type of pet doesn't matter also cause when you go B/P its because you have a MM necro in your party that is trying to raise a army of minions, so the job of the pet is to take the damage up front, die but last long enough to keep the enemy busy while the MM raises minions. Weapon choice. Vampiric 5/-1 bow with 30 hp and damage +15% while health is above 50% Zealous 1/-1 bow with 30 hp and damage +15% while health is above 50% Sundering bow with 30 hp and damage +15% while health is above 50% You want a Flatbow or a Longbow, because of Favorable Winds, the high arc of flatbow will get reduced. And i can probably donate some bows. You are the guy that posted about those 2 friends on here right?Just give me your girlfriends phone number and we can call it even.I'm not on that much tho only to do GVG , add me to FL and pm when you see me online, otherwise i might forget. |

Id go with a long bow over a flat bow, because sooner or later your going to come across a mob with favorable winds recharging and you'll need to interrupt a spell and the arc of the flat bow will make it near impossible. As for build, pretty much what xenax said, troll unguent/barrage/rebirth/charm animal/comfort animal/savage shot/distracting shot/whirling defense is what i use.

ROFL. Thanks Xenex. Yeah, and his advice is all pretty good. Though I must say the +energy armor is the best call.
Also, make sure not to have elemental bows (fiery, ebon, shocking, etc) or the spirit conflageration if you have an orders necro in your B/P group, otherwise his orders (which only work with phyiscal damage) won't do anything. |

Are you talking Barrage Pet Build or Barrage Paragon Build?
I always use the following for a ranger/paragon Elite- Barrage Distracting Shot Go for the Eyes Stand Your Ground Favorable Winds Whirling Defenses or Throw Dirt Trolls Urgent Resurrection Signet Zealous Bow of some sort is good for energy management Any armor should do. If just Ranger with a pet a basic skill set is Elite- Barrage Distracting Shot Savage Shot Charm Animal Favorable Winds Whirling Defenses or Throw Dirt Trolls Urgent Resurrection Signet Zealous Bow of some sort is good for energy management Any armor should do. |

I'm Euro IGN: tdk santa, look me up in game, or let her do it, and I see what I've got, I think I have some bows else I can easily go get some collectors and upgrade them a bit. Which campaign or all 3? My ranger can move all over and I'd be happy to help her out as a ranger. /Santa |
